Council for the City of Oshawa called a special meeting today to address a report that was received only yesterday with regards to the Municipal Land Transfer Tax.
A BIG Thank-you goes to every one that showed up at the Oshawa City Hall this afternoon at 3 pm. There were a lot of realtors and other interested parties in attendance.
I’m, happy to say that our council members voted to receive the Municipal Land Transfer Tax report for information only at this time and for further discussion except 5.3 (2-5) on page 3. This they voted to accept. Right now, Oshawa has not voted to accept a municipal land transfer tax as revenue.
This 108 page report was only received yesterday by the council members and they all stated that they needed more time to review. The province wanted an answer by Saturday.
Thanks Roger Bouma for your presentation on behalf of the Durham Region Associate of Realtors.
