What an inspiring story that has hit the media today.
A homeless man turned in $2,000 he found on the street in a Victoria suburb because he believed it was “the right thing to do,” according to the RCMP.
“This is an incredible display of honesty and selflessness,” said Const. Alex Bérubé of the West Shore RCMP.
The man, who is in his 60s and whose name wasn’t released, told police he realized the cash belonged to someone else.
“If we are not successful in identifying the rightful owner within 90 days, this Good Samaritan will receive the cash,” said Bérubé.
Police said anyone trying to claim the cash must be able to provide specific details of the amount, denominations and location where it was found
